Get ready for an exciting camp experience where creativity and imagination is key.
The STEAM Project is the first and largest STEAM summer camp in Richmond Hill. Now with five different campuses across Richmond Hill and Markham, kids from all over the GTA can spend their summer building projects and learning hands-on skills with our state-of-the-art technology.
At The STEAM Project’s STEM Summer Camps, campers develop skills, mindsets, and experiences through design challenges, problem-solving activities, and group projects.
Our camp and programs are run by Ontario Certified Teachers
Our summer camp instructors and Counsellors have a background in STEAM
We replace screens with real-life skills and tools to help campers gain knowledge that lasts a lifetime
We maintain a high staff to camper ratio to ensure your kids get the attention they deserve

We are excited to introduce our exclusive STEAM summer camp for 4-year-olds at our Richland Academy location! Designed specifically for preschoolers, this program features a high staff-to-student ratio ensuring personalized supervision, attention, and instruction. Our caring and patient counselors create an environment where children can explore their creativity and engage in hands-on projects while encouraging collaboration and respect for others’ ideas. Children will develop self-confidence, take pride in their accomplishments, and, most importantly, have a great time! Preschool campers must be 4 years old by the start of their first registered camp session and be potty trained and able to use the washroom without assistance.

As our youngest group of thinkers at the STEAM Project, Freshkids enjoy experiences that let their imaginations run wild. Our high staff to camper ratio ensures they have a high level of supervision, attention, and instruction as campers are introduced to basic skills and hands-on projects. Patient and nurturing individuals are specifically chosen as our Freshkids counselors to encourage young campers to collaborate and think as a group, understand/respect the thoughts and ideas of others, be proud of their abilities and accomplishments, and overall, just have fun.

At this age, it is important to have the opportunity to experience the complete process of experimenting, even when the ideas or the execution don’t turn out as expected. Our Sprockets are taught to develop resilience and ask questions to improve their situation through innovation, as we know that they are natural explorers who have many questions about the world around them. We have created a program focused on finding increasingly complex and creative solutions to solve problems, learning how to use basic hand tools with purpose, and helping campers respond to time management issues using structure and discipline.

With our Sophomore campers, there is a strong focus on collaboration and working towards shared goals, while also allowing them the much-needed opportunity to exercise their independence, leadership, and original thinking. The program specifically encourages using our resources with other campers to discover the ways they can use their intelligence and creativity to contribute to society by analyzing issues and thinking of ways to improve them. Campers are also given the privilege of using more advanced tools to take on projects with a higher level of complexity and knowledge.

Our Juniors are guided and mentored as they develop new skills that will allow them to utilize the full extent of our equipment and technology. They will begin working on more sophisticated projects that require increasing dedication, insight, and attention. By learning how to collaboratively build off of the ideas of others, our Juniors become team players as well as strong independent thinkers. Using more advanced tools, campers are encouraged to explore while staff are there to guide.

Our Seniors are encouraged to translate their imagination into the real world by channelling their abstract thinking into solutions for real-world problems. They are given the opportunity to utilize the full extent of our equipment and technology as they are ready to work on more sophisticated projects that require their age group’s dedication, insight, and attention. This means allowing campers to advance their technical and creative capabilities to come into their own as tinkerers and thinkers.

Start the day with a camp-wide meeting and welcome message from our counsellors. Campers will then be dismissed into their cabin groups to begin the day’s activities.
Learn a new concept and review the ones from the day before. It’s always a good idea to refresh our memory!
Time to recharge with a snack and some physical activity. We spend our break time playing games outdoors with friends and counsellors.
With all that extra energy out of our system, it’s time to start our second activity; learning and improving our skills with various tools and technologies.
Lunch is served! Satisfy your appetite with our delicious meal plans (or bring your own!) while taking part in exciting team challenges and events.
Let’s keep the fun going with some cabin-based games, crafts, and physical activity! This is the time to play with friends and participate in activities that interest you–arts, sports, games–you name it!
Once we’ve got our creative juices flowing, it’s time to start our design project where we’ll be combining everything we’ve learned throughout the day.
Ready to show everyone your spectacular project? Be fearless and present your projects or compete in design challenges.
See what cool activities are here for you during the Open Activity period. We offer 3D printing, woodshop, and robotics to name a few! Senior campers may work on their Enrichment Project.
