New to woodworking? Come join us in a fun, exploration-based environment to learn how to work with wood safely, use hand tools, build basic structures, and finish wooden projects to a high level of detail. Over the course of several short projects, students will gain skills, accumulate experience and build confidence to be able to pursue their own woodworking projects. Activities will be modified to student age and ability.
Students will learn how to create architectural scale models using our Tiny Home kit and 3D design software (SketchUp). Students will see their designs come to life as they learn how to draft and sketch our floor plan and construct their modular tiny home. They will also tackle furniture design while assembling 1:30 scale IKEA furniture, wiring LED lamps, and utilizing 3D printing customized furniture. Activities will be modified to student age and ability.
Chocolate Factory explores the art and science of working with chocolate, introducing key techniques such as tempering, molding, and flavor balancing. Students will learn how to combine these skills to create gourmet confections, using premium ingredients and custom-designed molds for unique and delicious results.
Battle Bots teaches the fundamentals of electricity & circuits, programming, and fabrication, serving as an introduction to how these three maker skills can be integrated to build a fun and complex project. Our battle bots are powered by a microcontroller and custom 3D-printed parts.
