Working at TSP has made me realize that I should pursue a career path that I love and that I shouldn’t be settling for any less. I grew as a leader as I learned to manage staff and teach and inspire youth, but I also grew as an engineer in ways that university courses could never teach us. I learned technical skills across engineering disciplines and was actually given the opportunity to hone and apply them. I learned that being creative is okay, which is never taught in such a technical discipline, and that it’s okay to make mistakes in the real world as long as we learn and grow from them. ”

If you met me on the first day, I would’ve been unrecognizable compared to the person I became. I was in the corner on my phone too scared to strike up a conversation. I feel like this camp is the reason I have the confidence to be around people I’ve never met. As a camper, I was usually the one that wouldn’t have anyone to talk to, but as a counsellor I was given the opportunity to help campers like me to step out of their comfort zone. Assistant Instructor
Responsible for reviewing existing lesson plans and activities, in order to best assist with instructing kids through STEAM activities. Assistant instructors can specialize in specific types of STEAM topics, such as robotics, architecture, and woodworking.
