About The Position

Employment Type: Full-Time, contract

Working Hours:
Mandatory Pre-Camp Training: TBD
Camp Dates: June 30 – August 22 (Schedule TBD)

Contract Salary Range: $575 – $625/week

We are looking for an organized and friendly Photographer to join our Summer 2025 camp team. Camp photographers are responsible for capturing the magic of camp and its memories through photos. They aren’t shy to get in the action of the activities and interact with the campers to make them comfortable in order to get a great shot. They will keep all of their shots organized to be used for marketing purposes throughout the year, and help to share the photos taken to our social media platforms.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has an eye for good design and composition
  • Has some working experience with photography
  • Has a friendly outgoing personality that helps staff and campers feel comfortable
  • Not scared of joining conversation uninvited and introducing themselves
  • Has experience working with children
  • Is flexible and adaptable
  • Possesses excellent time management skills

Role & Responsibilities

  • Capturing moments throughout the day of staff and campers having fun
  • Creating end of session slideshows/videos
  • Develop content for social media platforms
  • Capture Cabin Photos each session
  • Capture Portraits for our CampBrain System (200×200 – 72ppi) & have a photo of every camper linked in the google drive
  • Organization and Management of Content (eg. keywords tagged into Adobe Bridge)
  • Photo editing (light & airy photos)

Requirements

  • Has experience in photography and owns their own equipment
  • Has examples of previous work or a portfolio
  • Is proficient with photo editing software and camera equipment (i.e. Adobe Lightroom, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro)
  • Has an eye for colour, composition, and photography techniques
  • Has excellent written communication skills, specifically for digital content
  • Full weekday availability in July and August and select training days in June

Considered an Asset:

  • Previous experience managing a business social media account
  • Previous camp or recreation experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (upon hire)

This job may be funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). The SWPP program requires that candidates be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
