July- August 2023 (must be available for at least one two-week session)
Monday – Friday
8:45am – 4:15pm
The STEAM Project is partnered with a non-profit organization, Inventor Academy, to offer volunteer hours for Summer 2025. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside counsellors and instructors in leading a group of campers through fun programs and activities. At The STEAM Project, volunteers can develop and hone their skills in leadership, problem solving, teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution, just to name a few. A passion for inspiring youth is a must, and an interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) and/or outdoor activities is a huge asset!

- Will maintain excellent rapport with other volunteers, staff, and campers
Through this program, volunteers will gain:
- Volunteer hours – Students can earn 160+ volunteer hours to use towards high school requirements
- Experience – Develop real skills and experience to include in your resume
- Mentorship – Develop skills in a safe environment under the mentorship of our leaders and mentors
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in leadership workshops led by a leadership coordinator
- Assist campers with activities during the camp day
- Help instructors with lesson and material preparations
- Participate in camp spirit through cheers, spirit days, challenges
- Other duties to help campers and the camp run smoothly as asked by the head staff
Requirements
- Must have finished Grade 10 by the end of June 2024
- Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (upon hire – if under 18 years of age, a voluntary disclosure form will be provided by the camp for you to sign instead)
Considered an Asset:
- Previous experience working with children
- Current First Aid with CPR
- Experience with making, robotics, coding, electronics, VR, 2D/3D Design
